Dimensions are design targets; verify on site prior to fabrication.
Structure & Materials
- Posts: pressure-treated pine, 10″ nominal.
- Beams: pressure-treated pine, 10″ nominal.
- Rafters: pressure-treated round rafters, 4–5″ diameter.
- Purlins: natural pine (spaced to support the thatch layer).
- Roofing: natural thatch; both end faces enclosed for shade, wind relief, and splash control.
Plan & Function
- Long, narrow canopy pairs with drive lanes and side yards without blocking circulation.
- End enclosures increase shade and privacy while keeping the long side open to the pad or patio.
- High-side eave set for comfortable headroom; low-side overhang tuned for drip control along the edge.
Variations
- Width adjustable (e.g., 6′–8′) while keeping 38′ length for similar coverage.
- Optional service strip along the high-side beam for future lighting runs if desired.
- End enclosure style can be straight or slightly faceted to match nearby geometry.
Notes
- Confirm setbacks/clearances for the site and any community guidelines before placement.
- Member spacing and sizes are tuned during detailing based on exposure and desired overhangs.
Design concept for inspiration; not a sealed plan.
